Our Curriculum
Here at LVPPP, we understand that children are natural seekers of knowledge. They are constantly using the world around them to ask questions, test out hypotheses, and draw their own conclusions. Therefore, play-based, exploratory learning is at the core of everything we do. Our play-based curriculum allows children to grow and thrive in all areas of development, including:
Social and emotional development
Language and literacy
Physical health and wellbeing
Math and science inquiry
Sensory experiences
Creative expression
Our play-based program allows children to learn the skills they need in a structured and intentional environment. Our skilled teachers are constantly observing the children in their classroom, taking note of their interests, and turning those interests into learning experiences. Documentation of the children’s learning is used to identify developmental milestones, as well as to include families in the life of the school.
Goals for Children
LVPPP creates a structured and intentional classroom atmosphere that allows each child to grow at his or her own pace with increasing confidence and self-awareness.
At LVPPP, adults act as facilitators rather than instructors, thus encouraging the child to be self-motivated in his or her pursuit of knowledge.
LVPPP provides a multi-ethnic environment in which the child feels comfortable meeting with other children and adults.
Goals for Families
LVPPP facilitates a deeper awareness of the growth development of our children with observations and comments from the professional staff.
Family participation at LVPPP allows caregivers to observe interactions of children with their peers.
LVPPP is a community where families of preschool children meet and interact for the purpose of sharing experiences.
LVPPP provides opportunities for caregiver education.
