Participation Expectations
Classroom Assistant
Each participating family generally participates in the classroom 2-4 times per month (depending on the month and number of days enrolled). The assistant helps the teacher with the duties of the classroom, such as preparing and supervising activities, passing out snacks, and cleaning up.
For those families that are unable to contribute in the classroom, we also offer a limited number of “buyout” spots per classroom per day.
Fundraising
Participation in fundraising provides the school with the needed funds to provide a great learning environment while allowing families to use their communities to help raise the resources needed.
Beautification Days
Families participate in Beautification Days for 4 hours per family each semester (totaling 8 hours per year). General maintenance, including improvement projects on these days (for example, deep cleaning classrooms, repairs, yard work, etc.), helps keep our co-op preschool clean and safe.
Caregiver Education Meetings
Caregiver education meetings are an opportunity to be educated about and discuss relevant early childhood education, parenting, and other family topics.
Special Event
All families help plan and run one major school event (for example, Halloween Party, Open House, Graduation etc.).
Board or Committee Jobs
Every family participates as a member of the Board or performs a committee job to help keep our school running smoothly (for example, lawn mowing, laundry, toy washing, etc.).
