Inclusion in Action
we strive to create an environment where each child feels safe and valued
LVPPP’s Inclusion Committee aims to ensure that the various identities - cultures, abilities, neurodiversity, backgrounds, lifestyles and experiences - represented by our community are recognized, celebrated and supported.
By providing programmatic recommendations to the board and staff as well as organizing learning opportunities for our children and families, we work to ensure LVPPP is constantly growing and evolving to be a more diverse, equitable and inclusive space, where all children can focus on learning and connecting through the universal language of play.
All LVPPP families are welcome to join the Inclusion Committee. Please email president@lvppp.com for more information.
Examples of our past and current inclusion efforts:
Creating “About Me” books to celebrate the diverse backgrounds of our children and their families
Celebrating cultural and awareness-oriented holidays (for example, Dia De Los Muertos, Lunar New Year, Anti-Bullying/Kindness Awareness, Earth Month)
Providing classroom instruction in multiple languages when applicable
Growing our library of diverse books to make sure all students see themselves represented
Hosting a community World Cultures potluck
Offering sensory-calming spaces in the classrooms
And more!
